JUST IN: Dele Momodu Dumps PDP for ADC, Says Party Now a ‘Carcass Hijacked by Antidemocratic Forces’

Veteran journalist and former presidential aspirant, Chief Dele Momodu, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the party’s takeover by what he calls “antidemocratic forces.” In a letter dated July 17, 2025, and addressed to the chairman of PDP Ward 4 in Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, Momodu announced his immediate departure from the party, describing the move as a stand for democratic principles.

In the letter, Momodu expressed deep concern over what he described as the collapse of internal democracy within the PDP, accusing unnamed individuals both inside and outside the party of orchestrating its hijack. He likened the PDP to a “carcass” now controlled by those undermining its founding values.

Momodu, who vied for the PDP’s presidential ticket in the 2023 elections, expressed appreciation to members who stood by him throughout his time in the party, stating, “I will forever treasure the kind support you gave me at all times.”
