JUST IN: David Mark Resigns from PDP, Joins ADC as Interim Chairman

Former Senate President Senator (Dr) David A. B. Mark has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending decades of unwavering loyalty to the party. This move comes amid growing internal strife and leadership crises within the PDP.

In a letter dated June 27, 2025, addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Otukpo Ward 1, Benue State, David Mark cited deepening divisions, persistent leadership challenges, and irreconcilable differences as the key reasons for his exit. “The party,” he wrote, “has been reduced to a shadow of its former self, subjecting it to public ridicule.”

The former Senate President, who notably remained in the PDP even after its 2015 presidential election loss when many leaders exited, said he had worked tirelessly to rebuild and reposition the party. Despite these efforts, he believes recent events have undone years of progress.

Following wide consultations with his family, friends, and political associates, Senator Mark announced he is joining the National Coalition of Political Opposition Movement in Nigeria. He is now confirmed to have been appointed as the interim chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), signaling a major shift in Nigeria’s political landscape.
