In a distressing turn of events, bandits carried out a horrifying attack late Thursday night on St. Raphael Parish in Fadan Kamantan, within the Kafanchan Diocese in Southern Kaduna. The assailants left a trail of devastation by setting ablaze the parish house, tragically claiming the life of a young Seminarian, Na’aman Danlami.
Reports indicate that several priests managed to escape the violent onslaught, but Danlami, a devoted seminarian, was tragically trapped within the inferno. His lifeless body has since been transferred to a local mortuary.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the incident from either the state government or the Kaduna State Police Command.
However, Rev. John Hayab, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State, acknowledged the grim reality of the situation during a telephone conversation with the Punch correspondent. He expressed his deep sorrow, saying, “It is very sad that killings and this type of evil are still going on.”
This shocking incident serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing security challenges faced by communities in Kaduna and underscores the urgent need for effective measures to protect the lives and property of residents. The hearts of many are heavy as they grapple with the senseless violence that has once again scarred their community.
