JUST IN: Anambra PDP Governorship Candidate Jude Ezenwafor Dies After Abuja Shooting
Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the November 2025 Anambra governorship election, has been confirmed dead after a shooting in Abuja.
The incident occurred late Friday night in the Wuse 2 area of the Federal Capital Territory. Unidentified gunmen opened fire on Ezenwafor’s vehicle as he returned from a private engagement.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a private hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Two other passengers in the car were also injured.
Ezenwafor, a prominent real estate developer, emerged as the PDP candidate earlier this year after internal party negotiations.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear. Police have launched an investigation.
