Jonathan Hails Former Minister, Pate For Landing World Bank Role
Former president Goodluck Jonathan on Friday paid tribute to his former Minister of state for Health, Mr. Muhammad Pate on his recent appointment as the World Bank’s Global Director for Health, Nutrition and Population.
In a short statement issued from his official Twitter account,@GEJonathan, the former president said Pate’s appointment was a well deserved one.
He said,”1. I congratulate @muhammadpate, my former Minister of State for health over his appointment by World Bank as Global Director for health, nutrition, and population. Since he left the country in 2013 to take up an international appointment,
2. Dr. Pate has continued to soar like an eagle on the global scale. He exhibited prodigious capacity and professionalism as a member of my cabinet. I have no doubt that he will do very well in his new position. Congratulations.-GEJ”
Pate,who hails from Bauchi state was appointed minister in July 2011. He, however, resigned in 2013 to take up appointment as Professor in Duke University’s Global Health Institute, USA.
