Joe Igbokwe Reacts to Clash Between Wike and APC National Secretary Over Fubara
Joe Igbokwe, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and social media commentator, has condemned the escalating public disagreement between Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, over Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The tension follows Basiru’s recent show of support for Governor Fubara amid ongoing friction between him and Wike. During an event in Rivers State on Monday, Wike reportedly told Basiru to stay out of the state’s politics. In response, Basiru called on Wike to resign from his ministerial position, accusing him of being overly focused on Rivers State affairs.
Igbokwe described the dispute as unnecessary, warning that such confrontations serve as a distraction. In a Facebook post, he wrote: “The altercations between Hon. Minister FCT, Nyesom Wike, and the National Secretary APC Nigeria, Ajibola Basiru, are totally uncalled for and unnecessary. It is a needless distraction… Let the misunderstanding cease to exist now.”
