“I’ve Been Tinubu’s Boy Since I Left Secondary School” – Obasa

 

Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has declared his long-standing loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, stating that he has been a devoted supporter since finishing secondary school. Obasa made this statement during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television program, while addressing the ongoing crisis within the Lagos Assembly.

 

The crisis deepened on Thursday when Obasa, who was recently impeached, arrived at the Assembly complex with his security detail and presided over a controversial plenary session attended by only four lawmakers. His actions have further fueled tensions within the House.

 

When questioned about Tinubu’s support, Obasa reaffirmed his allegiance. “I have been following this man since I just left secondary school. I have pictures to prove this. During SDP, I contested for delegate,” he said. “Since then, I have always been one of his disciples, and I will not change tomorrow. I have always been a loyalist. If they are just realizing that now, then they have not been part of us from the genesis.”

 

On rumors of a fallout with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the embattled Speaker dismissed the claims, insisting that his relationship with the governor remains intact.
