“It’s All Over Now, All Is Forgiven,” Tinubu Tells Sanwo-Olu During Reconciliatory Meeting
President Bola Tinubu has reconciled with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, declaring during a closed-door meeting in Lagos on Saturday that he holds no more resentment. “It’s all over now. All is forgiven,” the president said, bringing a dramatic end to recent tensions between the two leaders.
The meeting was attended by members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who came to plead on behalf of the governor and others believed to have fallen out of favour with the president.
Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, welcomed Tinubu and acknowledged the president had shown signs of displeasure toward some individuals in the state, especially Governor Sanwo-Olu. He appealed directly for forgiveness.
According to sources present, Tinubu accepted the plea without revisiting the specifics of the rift, offering blanket amnesty with his now widely quoted words. In response, Sanwo-Olu and several GAC members reportedly prostrated before the president as a sign of remorse and respect.
The meeting focused solely on reconciliation and moving forward, without entertaining detailed explanations or justifications from either side.
