Israel Vows Response to Iranian Attack Amid Global Calls for Restraint
Israel has declared its intention to retaliate against Iran following a recent attack launched by the Middle Eastern nation. The assault, consisting of dozens of drones and missiles, targeted Israel in response to an earlier strike on Iran’s embassy in Syria.
Fortunately, the majority of the Iranian projectiles were intercepted before reaching their intended Israeli targets. The attack by Israel on April 1 reportedly resulted in the deaths of seven Iranian military personnel.
According to Reuters, Herzi Halevi, Israel’s military chief of staff, confirmed his country’s resolve to respond, although specific details were not disclosed. Halevi made these remarks during a visit to the Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel, which sustained damage in the attack.
“This launch of so many missiles, cruise missiles, and drones into Israeli territory will be met with a response,” stated the army chief.
In contrast, US President Joe Biden has reportedly indicated that the United States will not participate in a retaliatory strike against Iran.
The conflict between Israel and Iran-backed groups in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen has intensified since the recent hostilities with Hamas.
