Iran Outlines 10-Point Peace Proposal in Talks with U.S.

Iranian state-affiliated media have reported details of a proposed 10-point peace plan submitted by Tehran to the United States, as part of ongoing efforts tied to a temporary ceasefire.

According to the Tasnim News Agency, the draft proposal includes a permanent end to hostilities, recognition of Iran’s continued control over the Strait of Hormuz, and the preservation of its right to enrich uranium. The report cites officials but notes that the full text of the proposal has not been formally published by the Iranian government.

The plan was reportedly presented during a two-week ceasefire period intended to create space for negotiations.

Tasnim also stated that Iran is seeking the removal of international sanctions and measures imposed by the UN Security Council. Additional demands include the repeal of resolutions by the International Atomic Energy Agency, compensation for war-related damages, and the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region.

A separate report by the Fars News Agency outlined similar terms, adding that Iran would commit to not developing nuclear weapons. It said uranium enrichment limits could be addressed through future negotiations and that Tehran would pursue broader regional agreements to reduce tensions.

The proposal also calls for an end to fighting across multiple areas, including Lebanon.

U.S. President Donald Trump described the framework as a “workable basis” for further discussions. Both sides are expected to continue negotiations during the ceasefire window.
