INEC issues certificate of return to Senator Adeleke
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has issued the certificate of return to Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke the governor elect of Osun State.
The event took place at the INEC media centre in Osogbo, Osun State.
You would recall that David Adeleke popularly known as Davido had called out on INEC that the certificate had not been presented after 48 hours of his uncle’s victory at the polls.
In response, INEC replied Davido, informing him that no law says the certificate of return should be presented within 48 hours.
However in a twist, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC sent a letter signed by Abdulsalam Oduntan the Administrative Secretary and dated 18th July 2022, Senator Adeleke was informed of the presentation date, venue and time.
The certificate presentation to Adeleke was done by the INEC National Commissioner, Supervising Osun, Ogun and Oyo states, Prof. Kunle Ajayi, who also earlier made a presentation to the deputy governor-elect, Prince Kola Adewusi.
You would recall that Senator Ademola Adeleke was declared winner of the elections with 403,371 votes to beat the incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola who polled 375,027 votes.
