Imo ADC Raises N219m in 24hrs, Sets Sights on 2027 Polls

The Imo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has pulled in N219.7 million in just 24 hours, signaling a determined push to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

The fundraising took place at a stakeholders’ meeting in Owerri on Tuesday, drawing party leaders and members, including former governors Achike Udenwa and Emeka Ihedioha.

Udenwa described the ADC as the leading opposition in Imo and said the funds would support party activities across the state. He expressed confidence that the ADC would challenge the APC at both state and national levels.

“We may be the underdogs, but we are set to change the political landscape after the elections,” Udenwa said.

Ihedioha praised state Chairman Prof. James Okoroma and his team for steering the party and called for continued support from members. Okoroma said the meeting aimed to coordinate party leaders and prepare for future challenges, framing the 2027 polls as a “constitutional responsibility” to remove the APC from power.

The ADC also welcomed new members, including Chief Paul Mbadiwe, son of the late First Republic Minister of Aviation Kingsley Mbadiwe, along with former Labour Party officials.

Party leaders voiced optimism that ADC would make significant gains in the 2027 elections at both state and national levels.
