“I’m Sincerely Sorry for My Insensitive Statement About Nigeria Being Safer Now Than 10 Years Ago” – Seyi Law Apologizes
Popular Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has retracted his earlier claim that Nigeria is safer now than 10 years ago, following widespread criticism from the public. His comment, made during an appearance on the *Honest Bunch* podcast, drew backlash amid continuing reports of terrorism, kidnappings, and other security challenges across the country.
In an Instagram video, Seyi Law described his statement as “insensitive” and issued a public apology to Nigerians affected by insecurity. He said, “I want to sincerely and unreservedly tender an apology to those whom that statement has hurt… I’m sincerely sorry for such an insensitive statement.”
The comedian also called on President Bola Tinubu to prioritize national security, urging stronger measures to protect citizens.
Seyi Law, who is widely known for his support of the president, faced criticism online for appearing disconnected from the harsh realities many Nigerians face. His apology marks a significant shift in his public stance and attempts to address concerns from citizens who felt overlooked by his earlier remarks.
