IGP orders investigation into alleged assault on female officer by her superior
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has directed that CP Olaleye Faleye, the Commissioner of Police, Osun State, should investigate the alleged assault on a female Police Officer, by her superior DCO Olorunsogo Bamidele in Ode Omu Osun State.
This was made known in a statement released, by the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
The statement read in part that ”We will await the report of the investigation from Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken. However we assure the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF. ”
You would recall that a video which has since got viral showed the female police officer accusing her attacker whose name she gave as Ajayi Mathew.
She had accused him in the video of stripping her naked and beating her up because she refused to give in to his relationship advances.
