“If Tinubu Can’t Fix Nigeria, No Politician Can” – Seyi Law

Nigerian comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, popularly known as Seyi Law, has expressed unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that if Tinubu cannot transform Nigeria, no politician in the country is capable of doing so.

Seyi Law, who was one of the public figures that openly campaigned for Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidential election, reaffirmed his belief in the president’s leadership despite the current economic hardship and rising insecurity. He argued that the other leading presidential candidates—Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party—would not have performed better based on their political track records.

Speaking during an appearance on the Teju Babyface podcast, the comedian acknowledged that his political stance has cost him support from some Nigerians, particularly those who have chosen to boycott his shows. However, he insisted that he has no regrets about backing Tinubu and remains optimistic about the long-term impact of the president’s policies.

“Some Nigerians hate me for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They don’t even support my shows anymore,” he said. “You might not support me today, but I want to be 70 or 80 and see my children enjoying the benefits of the sacrifices I have made today.”

Seyi Law concluded his remarks with a firm declaration, saying, “I tell you wholeheartedly, not with any sentiment—if Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot redirect the ship of Nigeria, no politician currently can do it. None. Not Atiku, not Peter Obi. Not with what I know about all of them.”
