“If the Nigerian economy is as bad as you claim, how is the President able to afford a new jet?” – Kalu Aja
In a recent post on his X handle, financial analyst and educator Kalu Aja has cast doubt on the severity of Nigeria’s economic challenges. Aja highlighted that despite the current inflation and ongoing banditry, President Bola Tinubu managed to acquire a new private jet within just one year.
Aja’s remarks come as a challenge to the narrative that Nigeria’s economy is in dire straits. He questioned the apparent contradiction between claims of economic hardship and the President’s ability to make such a significant purchase. “It took your president just one year to buy a new private jet, in this same economy, you are complaining of inflation and bandits,” Aja wrote. He further pointed out, “Your president does not have two heads. If the Nigerian economy is as bad as you claim, how is the President able to afford a new jet?”
