“If in Ten Months There’s No Concrete Evidence of Progress, It Will Be Over for Tinubu,” Says Segun Sowunmi
In a recent interview on the Mic On Podcast, Segun Sowunmi, former spokesperson for ex-Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for allowing a group of influential politicians to dominate his administration. Sowunmi argued that this has hindered the effectiveness of Tinubu’s policies and interventions, which have not translated into tangible improvements for Nigerians.
Sowunmi expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs, stating that if President Tinubu does not provide clear and substantial evidence of progress within the next ten months, his presidency will be in jeopardy. “If in ten months’ time there is no concrete evidence that people are receiving quality services, the president should forget about it; it will be over,” Sowunmi warned.
He also lamented the lack of proactive engagement from Tinubu’s associates during recent protests, suggesting that the president’s leadership has been undermined by a select few. “The president has allowed himself to be trapped by a cabal, which is why his efforts are not resonating with the people,” Sowunmi concluded.
