ICC: Ignore Public Criticism, We Are Proud of You Whether They Like It or Not – Akpabio Tells Tinubu
At the commissioning of the newly renovated International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja on Tuesday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu, urging him to disregard public criticism and continue with his administration’s efforts at national transformation. Speaking during the event, Akpabio praised the rehabilitation of the ICC as a reflection of broader progress occurring across Nigeria under Tinubu’s leadership.
Drawing a parallel between the refurbished ICC and ongoing national developments, Akpabio said, “Mr. President, the renovation, rehabilitation and transformation that we are witnessing at the ICC is what you are bringing to this country, whether people like it or not. The Nigerian parliament is very proud of you.”
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who oversaw the renovation, announced during the event that the ICC had been renamed in honour of President Tinubu. In response, Tinubu stated that the FCT Minister would henceforth determine who is permitted to use the conference facility.
