“I Was Declared Wanted by the Police Without Invitation” – ABC Transport Owner’s Daughter
Ihuoma Julia Nneji, 34, daughter of the owner of ABC Transport, has claimed that she was declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force without any prior invitation or notification of a petition against her. Over the weekend, Nneji responded to her recent listing in the Special Police Gazette Bulletin, issued by the National Cybercrime Centre (NPF NCCC) in Abuja, for alleged criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking.
In a statement, Nneji denied all accusations of defamation or blackmail, insisting that she had never engaged in such activities on her verified social media accounts or elsewhere. She stated that she is the victim of blackmail and threats from her former boyfriend, Henry Uzochukwu, who is the complainant in the case.
Nneji recounted meeting Uzochukwu in April 2024, noting that their relationship initially appeared promising. However, she explained that conflicts arose in August 2024 when she decided to call off their planned wedding, which was scheduled for November 2024. The decision was made after Nneji discovered what she described as incriminating evidence regarding Uzochukwu’s sexuality.
“I found out he is gay, and that was when I decided not to proceed with the marriage,” she said. Further investigations into his background revealed that Uzochukwu had been previously engaged multiple times, with the reasons for the failed marriages remaining undisclosed. Nneji also discovered that his previous fiancée had left him a week before their planned wedding for the same reason.
She expressed feelings of being deceived and manipulated by the lies he told throughout their relationship. After calling off the wedding, Nneji said Uzochukwu began to harass her, threatening her life and falsely accusing her of running an Instagram page that spread rumors about him. She emphatically denied these accusations, calling them speculative and untrue.
