“I Started Making Decisions in February 2024” – Governor Fubara on His Governance Role
Governor Similanayi Fubara of Rivers State revealed that he began actively making decisions as governor in February 2024. Speaking on Tuesday at the inauguration of internal road projects at Egbeda Community Secondary School field in Emohua Local Government Area, Governor Fubara emphasized that the projects completed so far are the result of just four months of active governance.
At the event, which saw the participation of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Fubara underscored the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of his administration’s efforts. “We are just starting but I assure you of more attention,” he said. “If in four months, we can do this, and we are getting this level of applause, you can imagine what will happen when we do one year, two years.”
Fubara reiterated that his administration officially began making decisions in February 2024, and he takes pride in the positive reception from the people. “I am proud to say that our people are happy with what we have done,” he stated, promising to continue delivering governance and services efficiently.
The governor highlighted the importance of transparency and record-keeping in his administration, carrying his plans in a white paper to ensure accountability. “Call me any day, anytime, I have my records to show. I have all the approvals to show that I acted based on approval and not personal decision,” he affirmed.
Governor Fubara assured the public that his administration would keep delivering impactful projects while empowering the citizens. He pointed out that the Egbeda Internal Roads Project was designed to address both the happiness of the people and the persistent flooding problems in the area.
Acknowledging the public’s support before, during, and after the elections, Fubara pledged that his administration would provide the dividends of democracy through projects and social services.
During the inauguration, Governor Oborevwori commended Fubara’s commitment to infrastructure development. “This road project at Egbeda bears true testimony of the commitment of the Rivers State Government towards fulfilling its promise of sustainable infrastructure development of the State,” Oborevwori remarked. He noted that these all-season roads would economically empower not just the people of Egbeda but the entire Emohua Local Government Area.
