I know Nothing About Interior Ministry, Aregbesola Confesses
The immediate past governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola has said he knew nothing about the operations and policies of the Interior Ministry.
Aregbesola who was on Wednesday named the new Minister of the Ministry by president Muhammadu Buhari made the revelation when he addressed newsmen and staff of the ministry on resumption of office at the Ministry shortly after his inauguration.
He said, “My relationship with the ministry is distant. What I know about the ministry is what I read in the Newspapers.”
The former governor said he will formally resumed work on Monday and directed the Permanent Secretary to continue running the Ministry until then.
“I will come to take over on Monday. I give the Permanent Secretary the grace to run the ministry till then. We will be ready by Monday to take on the huge assignment,” he said.
“I promise you a realistic, reasonable and commendable leadership. The staff of this ministry should be ready for more work because I will be demanding much more from you,” he added.
Aregbesola was accused by his critics of running Osun state aground with controversial policies leaving behind massive debts.
