“I Curse This Day and May My Ancestors Continue to Fight You” — Nigerian Woman Blasts Ex-Husband in Facebook Posts
A Nigerian woman, Maryjane Diali, has taken to Facebook to fiercely criticise her ex-husband, declaring that she curses the day she married him. In a series of posts starting on August 4, 2025, and continuing on Tuesday, August 12, she accused the son of a top politician of aiding her former spouse in an alleged plot to kill her and seize their shared properties.
Diali alleged that for the past year, the unnamed political figure’s son had “secretly” been fighting her for no reason. She claimed he provided “all the necessary back ups” to her ex-husband to eliminate her, so he could take full control of their assets and live with “his new found love.”
Alongside her accusations, she posted photos from both their white and traditional wedding ceremonies. One image was captioned, “I curse this day and may my Ancestors continue to fight you,” while another post warned, “It will never be well with you. Go and mark today’s date. Your journey to my life will be the end of your Destiny.”
Reflecting on her life before marriage, Diali said she was independent, career-focused, and passionate about her future. She described herself as bold and determined to succeed until her relationship brought her “public ridicule, embarrassment and humiliation.” She ended her posts with a sharp curse, stating that everything she had suffered should happen to her ex-husband “in 1000 folds.”
