Hunger Protest: “Have Faith in My Ability to Deliver” – Tinubu Appeals to Nigerians Again
President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to maintain their faith in his administration, assuring them that the current challenges are temporary and that better days lie ahead.
Posted on the official social media channels of the presidency, the video sees President Tinubu addressing the nation’s concerns about the recent removal of subsidies. He acknowledged the resultant hardships but emphasized that measures are being implemented to mitigate the impact and ensure a brighter future for all Nigerians.
President Tinubu committed to making education more affordable and accessible. He announced plans to provide loans to higher education students in need, underscoring his administration’s dedication to promoting the greatest good for the greatest number of citizens.
“Fellow Nigerians, this period may be hard on us, and there’s no doubt that it’s tough on us, but I urge you all to look beyond the present temporary pains and aim at the larger picture. All our good and helpful plans are in the works; more importantly, I know that they will work,” Tinubu stated.
He further explained the unavoidable lag between subsidy removal and the implementation of new plans but reassured the nation that efforts are being made to close this gap swiftly. “I plead with you, please have faith in our ability to deliver and in our concern for your wellbeing. We will get out of this turbulence, and due to the measures we have taken, Nigeria will be better equipped and able to take advantage of the future that awaits her.”
Highlighting his commitment to education, Tinubu promised, “We shall fulfil our promise to make education more affordable to all and provide loans to higher education students who may need them. No Nigerian student will have to abandon higher education because of lack of money.”
He concluded by expressing his administration’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of Nigerians. “Our commitment is to promote the greatest good for the greatest number of our people. On principle, we shall never falter. I assure you, my fellow countrymen and women, that we are exiting the darkness to enter a new and glorious dawn.”
