How My Trusted Aide of 34 Years Died in Abuja Hotel After Attending Church – FFK

Femi Fani-Kayode, a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress and former minister, has revealed the tragic circumstances surrounding the death of his longtime aide, Ndifreke Saviour Mark, who passed away in an Abuja hotel on Sunday, October 13.

In a statement shared on his social media platforms, Fani-Kayode described Mark, who had been his aide for 34 years, as his most trusted confidant. The 52-year-old reportedly slumped and died shortly after attending church services at the Catholic Church of Assumption in Asokoro. He was found unresponsive at Mildy Lodge and Apartments in Garki, where he had gone after mass.

Emergency services transported Mark to Asokoro District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Fani-Kayode confirmed that the police are investigating the incident and have detained the hotel receptionist, the manager, and an unnamed individual who was present with Mark at the time of his collapse. The police have also sealed the hotel room where Mark died as part of their investigation.

Expressing his grief, Fani-Kayode emphasized the profound loss felt by both him and Mark’s family. He stated, “Mark was like a son to me… his passing is a huge blow to me and my entire family.” He reassured Mark’s wife, Barrister Patience Ndifreke-Mark, and his family of his support during this difficult time.

Fani-Kayode called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of Mark’s death, emphasizing his desire for justice if foul play is discovered. He fondly remembered Mark as a kind and compassionate individual who touched the lives of many.

“I have absolute confidence in the FCT Police Command to get to the bottom of this matter after which we can proceed to bury a man that was my most loyal staff and most trusted aide,” he added.

Mark leaves behind a wife and two young children. Fani-Kayode concluded his statement by thanking those who have expressed their condolences and called for prayers for Mark’s soul and comfort for his grieving family.
