How Kidnappers Murdered Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar Despite N30 Million Ransom Effort
Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, one of the six sisters abducted from their residence in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was brutally murdered by kidnappers who had demanded a staggering N60 million ransom for their release.
Nabeeha’s uncle, Sherifdeen, who has been actively involved in the rescue efforts, revealed the shocking details of the family’s interaction with the kidnappers. Despite the family’s efforts to negotiate and raise close to N30 million, the abductors were reportedly angered, leading to the tragic killing of Nabeeha.
The abduction has sparked widespread outrage across the country, with social media flooded with expressions of concern over the escalating insecurity in Nigeria. During a rescue attempt, another uncle, Alhaji Abdulfatai, and two police officers lost their lives in a gunfire exchange with the kidnappers.
Sherifdeen narrated the heart-wrenching moment when they were directed to a location to receive a ‘message’ and discovered Nabeeha and three other victims brutally murdered. The kidnappers then increased their ransom demand to N100 million, threatening to kill the remaining five siblings if the new deadline is not met.
Former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, announced a friend’s generous donation of N50 million as part of the ransom. Despite Pantami’s reservations about paying ransoms to criminals, he emphasized the urgent need to secure the release of Nabeeha’s surviving sisters.
Pantami expressed condolences for Nabeeha’s tragic death and conveyed gratitude for the friend’s contribution, urging collective efforts to address the security challenges in the country. As the nation mourns Nabeeha’s loss, calls intensify for the government and security agencies to intervene and prevent further tragedies for the remaining abducted siblings.
