How Hoodlums Razed Lawmaker’s Home In Anambra
Suspected hoodlums, yesterday, razed down a house belonging to the lawmaker, representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr Paschal Agbodike.
It was gathered that no life was lost in the incident. A source said the house, consisting of a fully furnished five-bedroom duplex with four living rooms and a kitchen, was partially burnt down by the hoodlums.
He said that the hoodlums invaded the house located in Ubahi-Mbosi in Ihiala Local Council at about 1:00a.m. and started shooting sporadically before setting the house ablaze.
According to him, the fire destroyed some parts of the building before the hoodlums fled on sighting security operatives approaching the scene.
Agbodike, who is also a former deputy speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, confirmed the incident to newsmen. He said he was informed about the incident on the telephone as he was in Abuja when the attack occurred.
When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident, said surveillance has been put in the area.
He said: “The area has been condoned and security operatives have been deployed in the area and they are assessing the situation. There is ongoing surveillance by the operatives.”
