How a Landlord Orchestrated the Shocking Kidnap and Murder of Two Ondo University Students

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a landlord and two accomplices in connection with the kidnap and gruesome murder of two students from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA). The victims, Abah John Friday, 25, and Okah Andrel Eloho, 19, were declared missing on June 20, 2025.

Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, disclosed during a press briefing in Akure on Wednesday, July 16, that the landlord, Oladele Femi, masterminded the crime and played a direct role in covering up the murders. The body of Okah was discovered last week in a remote border community between Ondo and Ekiti States. Abah’s remains are yet to be found, but investigators believe he was dumped in a river by an accomplice still at large.

The investigation began after a petition was filed on June 24 by legal representatives of the victim’s family. Forensic tracking led detectives to Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos, where an iPhone belonging to one of the victims was recovered from Abdul Mohammed Mubarak. Mubarak confessed he had purchased the phone from Ojo Michael, who was later arrested in Aramoko-Ekiti, where police also recovered a stolen Lexus RX 350 linked to the victims.

Under interrogation, Michael admitted to participating in the robbery, abduction, and brutal killings. He also confessed to raping the female victim. According to him, the landlord, Femi, had hired him and another man identified as Kola to carry out the plot. The victims were allegedly murdered after Okah recognised one of the abductors and threatened to expose them. Their bodies were then dumped in separate forested areas between Agbado and Ode-Ekiti.

Police revealed that N800,000 was withdrawn from Abah’s bank account during his captivity. Acting on Femi’s confession, officers recovered Okah’s body in a bush near Ode-Ekiti. It has been deposited at a General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

CP Lawal described the case as a harrowing example of betrayal, greed, and calculated brutality, adding that the victims—young, promising students—were raped and murdered in cold blood. He vowed that the command would not rest until the remaining suspect is apprehended and the full truth is uncovered.
