Horror in Anambra: Several Trapped as Trailer Overruns Vehicles, Pedestrians
A devastating accident occurred Tuesday evening at Idemili Junction, Anambra State, as a speeding trailer carrying a 40-foot container lost control and crashed, trapping several vehicles and pedestrians.
Eyewitnesses reported that the trailer suffered a brake failure before ramming into tricycles, a shuttle bus, and bystanders at the busy junction. Disturbing videos from the scene, now circulating on social media, show wreckage and body parts of some victims trapped under the trailer.
Emergency responders, including officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Police, arrived promptly to carry out rescue operations. However, the exact number of casualties remains unknown.
Speaking on the incident, the spokesperson for the FRSC in Anambra State, RC Margaret Onobe, confirmed the crash and assured that further details would be provided soon.
