High Chief Raymond Dokpesi has reacted to the criticisms that trailed his video after he was released from Covid19 isolation a few days ago. In the video he had queried the rational behind the treatment of Covid19 with malaria drugs.

This is what Chief Dokpesi had to say about his comments:

I weep for Nigeria. This unfortunately this why we are still in dark ages.

After my comments apex medical association in Nigeria-NMA stated inter alia: “The testing method has not revealed the real incidence of the virus in Nigeria. NMA, therefore advocates fast tracking of testing using INNOVATIVE specimen COLLECTION and transport MODALITIES to AMELIORATE this DEFICIT in technique.”

I rest my case. Abuse and scandalise me as much as you wish.I shared my experience and contributed to the improvement of health care system.

I saw someone say I am a businessman and politician.Yes I am but also first class degree marine engineering holder Distinction at Masters level and a PhD holder from the famous and prestigious University of Gdansk Poland. I lectured in the same university.

DG NCDC confirmed yesterday that Covid19 is a respiratory illness brought about by virus whilst Malaria is a parasite carried illness by mosquito. So you can do detailed blood analysis to determine if the symptoms are from parasites and Xray, oxygen saturation test to see if you are Covid19.

In Nigeria are these detailed tests done? No. and I was never so tested.

Nigerians are daily said to be Covid19 positive.

As of this morning 5,162 out of 30,657 persons tested are said to be positive. We have had  an average of daily increase of 250 persons. Are these all Covid persons. So if you have malaria with symptoms similar presumably to Covid 19 are you automatically Covid19 positive?

Where are our researcher, professors in medicine? We must interrogate these issues for the good of our people especially that we know that malaria has been with us since slave trade era. Good bless you and I rest my case. DAAR
