Herder Reported Missing Found Dead in Abuja Community
A herder who went missing on Sunday has been found dead in Riwaza, near Fobgbe community, in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The body was discovered around 6:22 p.m. on Monday by a farmer returning from his field.
According to residents, the deceased had left his settlement in Riwaza with his cattle for grazing on Sunday morning but did not return home. His absence raised concern within the community after the Fulani leader in Fobgbe, Ardo Shehu Usman, confirmed that a herder had been reported missing.
Speaking on Wednesday, Ardo Usman explained that the case was not immediately reported to security agencies due to the poor state of the road linking the village to Kwali town.
“We kept searching for him, but it was not until Monday evening that a farmer found the corpse and alerted the community,” he said.
The cause of death has not yet been determined as of the time of filing this report.
