Heartbreaking Incident: 300-level ATBU Student Dies After Morning Shower
In a heartbreaking incident at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Naja’atu Salisu, a 300-level Computer Science student, has tragically passed away after being found unconscious in the bathroom of the female hostel on Friday morning.
According to sources, Naja’atu had entered the bathroom to take her morning shower and prepare for her lectures. She was later discovered lying unconscious on the bathroom floor, prompting immediate intervention from fellow students.
“Naja’atu had completed her usual morning preparations for class and laid out her clothes before entering the bathroom,” revealed one of Naja’atu’s roommates who preferred anonymity.
Confirming the incident, ATBU’s spokesperson, Zailani Bappa, disclosed that Naja’atu was swiftly taken to the university’s clinic for urgent medical attention. However, medical personnel encountered challenges in accessing her veins.
“Upon realizing the difficulty, Naja’atu was promptly transferred to the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased by attending medical professionals,” Bappa stated.
He further mentioned that Naja’atu Salisu has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites, as prayers are offered for the peaceful repose of her soul.
This tragic event has cast a shadow over the university community, with friends, colleagues, and faculty mourning the untimely loss of a promising student. The university administration has expressed condolences to her family and urges students to remain vigilant about health and safety measures.
