“He Never Registered With Us” — ADC Refutes Sen Gada’s Membership Claim
Sokoto chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed claims that Senator Abubakar Gada is a party member. The state chairman, Alhaji Bello Isiyaku-Keegan, said Gada has never completed the registration process or appeared on any ADC membership record.
Speaking to journalists on Monday in Sokoto, Isiyaku-Keegan stressed that party membership is formal and verifiable. He noted that Gada, who represented Sokoto East Senatorial District from 2007 to 2011 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has never been part of ADC at any level.
“It is regrettable and surprising that such a claim would be made publicly by a politician of Gada’s stature,” he said, adding that neither Gada nor Senator Aminu Tambuwal has registered with the party. He described the statement as an example of careless political communication.
Isiyaku-Keegan reaffirmed ADC’s focus on integrity, inclusiveness, internal democracy, and people-centered governance.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gada, previously involved in ADC’s coalition, has returned to the PDP, citing leadership and structural challenges within the coalition and aiming to help rebuild the party ahead of the 2027 elections in Sokoto.
