Gunmen Storm Plateau Bar: Nine Killed, Three Wounded in Night of Violence

 

Nine people have been killed and three others injured following a gun attack on a bar in Dorowa Babuje community, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State.

 

The incident occurred on Sunday night when unidentified gunmen entered the bar and opened fire on patrons. Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos as people tried to escape. The injured have been hospitalized for treatment.

 

Dauda Sunday, a resident, said, “I saw several bodies lying on the ground, and another victim had already been taken to the hospital. We were going about our normal activities when the gunmen stormed the area and opened fire.”

 

Rwang Tengwong, National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, confirmed the attack, noting it targeted members of the local community. He also referred to a related incident in the area, where an armed group allegedly ambushed a resident along the Jol–Sho road in Riyom Local Government Area.

 

“The attack in Dorowa Babuje occurred around 7:27 p.m., leaving nine dead and three seriously injured. The victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention,” Tengwong said.

 

Authorities have not yet released a statement on the perpetrators or the motive behind the attack, as investigations are ongoing.
