Gunmen kill vigilante, 2 others, abduct one female in Plateau fresh attack
Armed gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have again killed a vigilante and two others following a fresh attack at Gwa-Pwana village, Vwang District, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The vigilante identified as Joseph Swanta, was killed alongside a 70-year-old man, Davou Dalyop, as well as Davou Mwantiri, aged 59, when the gunmen invaded their house in the early hours of Thursday, December 3, 2020.
According to a member of the community, Solomon Mwantiri, the vigilante officer noticed the arrival of the attackers and was trying to find out what was happening before he was shot dead by them.
He added that the attackers had also went away with a lady identified as Adegoke Olafunke.

Another resident who pleaded anonymity commended the response of personnel of Police Divisional Headquarters of K-Vom for arriving the village and engaged the attackers in serious exchange of gunfire despite the heavy weapons used by the gunmen.
The Plateau State Police Command while confirming the attack to reporters through its spokesperson, ASP Gabriel Ubah, called for calm and said the police is still investigating the matter.
