Gunmen Invade RCCG Residential Compound, Kidnap Pastor
Gunmen have abducted Pastor Faturoti Olaniyi of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Karu, Nasarawa State. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, June 24, 2025, at the RCCG residential compound near Bristol Academy, within the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) estate.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the armed assailants invaded the premises around 1:30 a.m., firing multiple gunshots before seizing the pastor and fleeing to an unknown destination. Witnesses reported that the sudden attack sparked widespread panic, with residents fleeing for safety as the gunmen operated freely for several minutes without resistance.
In response, a coordinated search operation involving police, local vigilantes, hunters, and other security agencies was launched. Security personnel reportedly sealed off possible escape routes and began combing nearby hills and forested areas in pursuit of the kidnappers.
As of the time of this report, Pastor Olaniyi remains in captivity, and efforts to rescue him are ongoing.
