Gunmen Abduct Young Woman from Her Home Under Unclear Circumstances

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a young woman, Plangdes Nelson Rengkwar, from her residence in Dong community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incident occurred on Monday, September 14, 2025, when the armed men invaded her home. Plangdes, who is known as a chef and baker, was taken away under yet unclear circumstances. Unconfirmed reports suggest that her brother may have also been abducted during the attack.

Details surrounding the abduction remain sketchy as of the time of this report. However, the development has sparked fear and concern among residents and acquaintances of the victim, many of whom are appealing for urgent intervention from the Plateau State government and security agencies.

Reacting to the incident, a friend of the victim, Evah James Ayizeh, described the situation in Jos as “unbearably frightening,” lamenting that people are no longer safe even in their own homes. Another acquaintance called on Governor Caleb Mutfwang to urgently address the recurring cases of abduction in communities like Dong, stressing that innocent lives continue to be threatened.

Friends and well-wishers have also taken to social media to pray for the safety of Plangdes, expressing hope that she will return home unharmed.
