Gunmen Abduct Five in Abuja, Shoot APC Chieftain

In a shocking incident early Monday, gunmen abducted five residents of Yangoji in the Kwali area council of the Federal Capital Territory and shot Alhaji Musa Majaga, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The attack occurred around 12:23 am when the assailants invaded Majaga’s home. A local resident, Abdullahi, reported that the kidnappers broke through the house’s security bars, entered the room, and shot Majaga before abducting two of his children. The gunmen then proceeded to another apartment, kidnapping three additional neighbors.

A vigilante member disclosed that the kidnappers exploited a shortage of cartridges among the local vigilantes, a vulnerability they had apparently learned of beforehand. “We haven’t seen such an attack in Yangoji for the past five months,” he noted.

Alhaji Musa Majaga, who sustained a gunshot wound to his leg, has been admitted to a private hospital in Gwagwalada for treatment.

SP Adeh Josephine, the spokesman for the FCT Police Command, indicated that she needed more time to gather details about the incident and had not provided further information at the time of this report.
