GTBank Reacts to Report of Website Hacking, Data Breach Claims
Nigeria’s leading commercial bank, Guarantee Trust Bank (GTBank), has firmly denied reports that its website has been compromised by hackers. A top executive at GTBank, speaking exclusively to the Daily Post, stated that the claims are entirely false.
This clarification comes in the wake of reports suggesting that the bank’s website was seized by hackers and that customers’ data was intercepted as part of a massive phishing operation. However, the GTBank executive emphasized that the bank is merely experiencing a connectivity issue unrelated to hacking.
“It’s false. What we are experiencing is a connectivity issue and has nothing to do with the alleged hacking,” the executive said.
