JUST IN: Phones of Dangote, Otedola Hacked as Hackers Make Ransom Demands

Hackers have breached the mobile phones of Aliko Dangote, chief executive of Dangote Group, and Femi Otedola, chairman of First HoldCo Plc, according to report from TheCable. Sources close to both businessmen said the intrusions occurred over the past week, with Otedola’s phone compromised once and Dangote’s device targeted twice within two days.

It remains uncertain whether the two have fully regained control of their phones, but insiders say the attackers have issued financial demands. One source confirmed that the hackers are requesting money from both men.

Dangote and Otedola share a decades-long friendship and frequently refer to each other as brothers. Otedola was present recently when Dangote announced plans to expand his refinery’s capacity from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million. At the event, Otedola praised his friend’s influence and impact, describing him as a symbol of continental progress and noting that the refinery project will eventually be partly owned by Nigerians.

Otedola, author of the best-selling Making It Big, has also deepened his investment footprint, recently acquiring 64.87 million additional shares in First HoldCo Plc, valued at N2.01 billion.
