Governor Mbah Meets Tinubu at Aso Rock, Commends President’s Economic Policies

In a recent meeting at the Presidential Villa, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State expressed confidence in the safety of the state for investors and praised President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, emphasizing their positive impact on foreign direct investments (FDI).

Governor Mbah highlighted the effectiveness of the unified foreign exchange rates policy, stating that it is contributing positively to Enugu’s FDI initiatives. He commended President Tinubu’s bold economic decisions, acknowledging that while some policies, such as the removal of fuel subsidy, might be challenging in the short term, they are essential for the nation’s economic well-being in the long run.

During the meeting, Governor Mbah revealed the Enugu State Government’s collaborative efforts with the federal government to facilitate the construction of a cargo terminal and the completion of the international wing of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu. He explained that these initiatives are aimed at creating an enhanced logistics hub to attract investments to the state.

Addressing the imperative of collaboration, Governor Mbah stated, “Enugu is largely the capital of Igboland. We want to build our cargo terminal and ensure that the international wing of our airport is operational. Therefore, I have essentially come to felicitate the president and enjoin that we continue to collaborate.”

Responding to concerns about insecurity, Governor Mbah reassured that Enugu State is ready for investment, emphasizing that issues like sit-at-home orders and related insecurity have been effectively addressed. He declared, “Enugu State is open for business,” urging investors to take advantage of the enhanced security situation in the region.

The governor concluded by inviting potential investors to explore opportunities in Enugu, highlighting the positive economic atmosphere and the state’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for business and economic activities.
