Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Removes Buba Galadima as Kano Polytechnic Council Chair
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has removed Buba Galadima as chairman of the governing council of Kano State Polytechnic.
The decision was disclosed in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa.
Yusuf has appointed Aliyu Abdulkadir, Emir of Gaya, as the new chairman of the institution’s governing council.
The state government said the change followed a restructuring of boards and councils in line with the administration’s Kano First Agenda. Although the governing council’s tenure is three years, the government stated that Galadima’s appointment was ended before its expiration as part of ongoing reforms aimed at improving the polytechnic’s performance.
The governor expressed appreciation to Galadima for his service to the institution.
He also called on Abdulkadir to apply his experience and leadership to strengthen academic and administrative standards at the polytechnic.
The government described the move as part of a broader reform programme to align public institutions in Kano with its governance priorities.
