Gov Mbah Launches Building of 81 Roads
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, unveiled a monumental initiative yesterday as he officially launched the construction of 81 roads, encompassing 71 urban and 10 rural roads across the state. The launch ceremony took place at the Premier Layout in Enugu City Road, within the Enugu metropolis, and Owo Road in Nkanu East Local Government.
Governor Mbah expressed his commitment to delivering people-focused governance and reiterated the importance of keeping his promise to the citizens of Enugu State. He stated that these road projects were consistent with the social contract he initiated on his first day in office.
During his address, Governor Mbah set an ambitious target, pledging to complete these roads before the end of December. He also assured the people of the state that the roads would adhere to the highest standards and be of the utmost quality.
Funding for these infrastructure projects has been a priority for the Governor, with a focus on both urban and rural areas. He emphasized that the launch event signified the beginning of construction and reconstruction for 71 roads in urban areas, although it might not be feasible to launch each of them individually.
Governor Mbah emphasized, “For us, this is essentially what government is designed to do; to bring governance closer to the people.”
The launch of these road projects marks a significant step toward enhancing the state’s infrastructure and improving the lives of Enugu State residents
