GOC Vows: No Backing Down Until Okuama Perpetrators Apprehended
In the aftermath of the tragic killing of 17 soldiers and civilians in Okuama, Delta State, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdussalam, has pledged relentless pursuit of justice. The prime suspect, Endurance Okodeh, alias Amangben, remains at large, prompting a focused manhunt by troops deployed in the creeks.
During a condolence visit by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, to the Division’s Headquarters in Port Harcourt Barracks, Major General Abdussalam affirmed the military’s unwavering commitment to apprehend all involved in the heinous crime. He emphasized that troops will persist in their operations until all stolen weapons are recovered, and the perpetrators are brought to justice.
In echoing the sentiments of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, Major General Abdussalam emphasized the professionalism and dedication of the troops involved in the operation. He urged the public to provide valuable intelligence to assist in the apprehension of the suspects and recovery of stolen arms.
Addressing concerns over the safety of the Niger Delta region, Dr. Ogbuku stressed the importance of peace and security for sustainable development. He condemned the violent actions of the perpetrators and called for unity in supporting the Nigerian Army’s efforts to restore order and ensure justice for the fallen soldiers.
