The Ghanaian government has extended the free electricity to the poor and free water to all citizens for another 3 months.
The announcement was made by the Minister of finance, Ken Ofori-Atta last Thursday.
President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo, during the lockdown had announced 3 months of free electricity for lifeline consumers (who consume less than 50kWH a month) and 50 per cent rebate for consumers, who went beyond the lifeline threshold.
He had also announced that water bills for all Ghanaians for April, May, and June were taken up by the government, following complaints of lack of potable drinking water in communities affected by the lockdown.
