Gas Explosion Injures Two, Leaves Newborn in Coma at Nigerian Journalist’s Home
A gas explosion at the home of Nigerian journalist Abdulkareem Haruna has left a newborn baby in a coma and two others with serious injuries. The tragic incident occurred on Monday, September 30, while the family was preparing for the baby’s naming ceremony.
The explosion, believed to have been triggered by a faulty gas cylinder, rocked the residence, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood. Hamza Suleiman, a colleague of the journalist, confirmed the incident in a social media post.
“In a tragic incident this morning, a sudden gas explosion occurred at the residence of journalist Abdulkareem Haruna, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood,” Suleiman wrote on Facebook.
He further explained that two people suffered severe injuries in the blast, while the newborn, just a few days old, was critically affected and rushed to the hospital after slipping into a coma.
Suleiman urged the public to support the family during this difficult time, adding, “Let us rally around Abdulkareem Haruna and his family, hoping for the speedy recovery of the injured and pray for the newborn child.”
