Gabon President Invites Dangote to Invest in Cement, Fertiliser Production
President Brice Oligui Nguema has extended an invitation to Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, to invest in the production of cement and fertilisers in the country. This invitation was announced by the media office of Dangote Group on Tuesday.
President Nguema urged Dangote, Africa’s richest man, to explore the lucrative investment opportunities in Gabon’s cement and fertiliser sectors, particularly focusing on urea and phosphate production.
“President Brice Oligui Nguema of Gabon has invited the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), Aliko Dangote, to invest in cement and fertiliser production in Gabon,” read part of the statement from Dangote Group.
The discussions between President Nguema and Dangote revolved around how Dangote Industries could significantly contribute to Gabon’s economic growth. Establishing cement and fertiliser plants is seen as vital for the country’s infrastructure development and agricultural productivity.
President Nguema expressed his enthusiasm about the potential partnership, emphasizing Gabon’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for foreign investments. He highlighted that the collaboration with Dangote Industries would bring significant benefits to Gabon, including job creation, technology transfer, and enhanced industrial capacity.
