FUOYE Student Arrested for Alleged Rape of Male Colleague
A 400-level male student at the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) has been arrested by police for allegedly raping a male colleague on campus. The student’s identity has been withheld, and he was seen in a video being taken away by police amid a crowd.
The video, shared widely on social media platform X, has sparked a wave of reactions online.
One user, @enyinwa_, expressed strong disapproval, writing, “If you are a man, and you find your fellow man attractive, a dog has more value than you.”
Another user, @FavoriteNorah, criticized those making light of the situation, asking, “Why are people laughing in the comment section? So rape is now a funny matter? Or is it because it’s a man?”
Concerns about the university’s reputation were also raised. @areme007 commented, “Omo wahala dey o. What is really happening in this school called FUOYE? They’re always in the news, Kilode. Male student raped another male student.”
In a more humorous but critical tone, @TugClassic tweeted, “Ahhh, wetin never happen Bob Risky don happen to Bob Reckless. Please Why is Eleshin feeling too proud with his pot belly.”
The incident has also brought unrelated promotional content into the conversation. For instance, @AdsKaapo tweeted about a service unrelated to the case, “With Kaapo, you can pay bills, and refill airtime and data conveniently. We’ve designed a simple and secure way to top up and pay bills online.”
Reflecting broader societal concerns, another user lamented, “God what is this world turning into like this. What tf do you find attractive in a fellow man to the point of raping the person. Aye gbogbo yin shey wa baje bayii.”
