Tunji Disu, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, has emerged as the Commissioner of Police of the Year at the inaugural Nigeria Police Awards and Commendation.
The prestigious event unfolded at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, with dignitaries including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano gracing the occasion.
Representing President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Shettima declared the first week of April as Police Week, with April 7th marked as National Police Day.
In a competitive field, Disu clinched the top honor, edging out contenders Danjuma Aboki of CP Imo Command and Augustina Ogbodo of CP Ebonyi Command.
