Full List: Chisco Transport, Free Range Farms, Zenon Petroleum… CAC to Delist Companies Dormant for 10 Years
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced plans to delist companies that have not filed their annual reports for the past decade. The CAC’s statement on Wednesday specified that these companies have a 90-day window to comply by submitting their reports.
“This is to inform the general public that the commission, pursuant to its powers contained in Section 692 (3) (4) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act No. 3 of 2020, intends to strike off from the Register, names of defunct or dormant companies that have not filed Annual Returns for a period of 10 years,” the statement reads.
Companies must file all outstanding annual returns and notify the CAC via email at activation@cac.gov.ng within the next 90 days to avoid delisting.
The CAC warned that operating under a delisted company’s name is illegal, as such an entity is considered dissolved. The commission’s website lists over 100,000 companies targeted for delisting.
