Four Lecturers Dismissed from Federal University Lokoja Over Sexual Misconduct

The Governing Council of the Federal University Lokoja has officially dismissed four lecturers over allegations of sexual misconduct and examination malpractices. The decision was approved during the council’s Second Meeting held on Thursday.

The dismissal follows an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and examination misconduct, which were reported last year. The council, under the leadership of Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, commended the university management for adhering to due process during the investigation.

Speaking after the meeting, Senator Ndoma-Egba emphasized the university’s zero tolerance for unethical conduct. “The council will not tolerate any unethical behavior within the university,” he said, urging the management to expedite the resolution of other pending misconduct cases, particularly one from the Faculty of Science that has recently garnered media attention.

The council also issued a stern warning to faculty and staff, cautioning against any form of harassment or molestation of students. It further called on students to report any such incidents and assured them that no cases of misconduct would be overlooked.
